Qatar's premium Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) exporter, is growing rapidly and bringing new products to the market while raising its profile regionally and around the world. The company is a leading producer of natural gas and is setting the pace for the global LNG industry, supplying efficient and environmentally friendly energy to the world. They are now looking for an experienced Marine Officer to join the Company.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a positive, experienced Manager with a solid sailing background to run the marine side of our club business.

The ideal Candidate will have:

UK Club Racing organisation experience
Racing experience at National or International level
Great communication skills
Good man management skills
Excellent administration abilities
A flexible approach to work
Experience in managing a budget and achieving results
Knowledge of Boats and Classes
Solid understanding of Health and safety.

Main Tasks Include:

Providing management support to the General Manager, Vice Commodore and committees to ensure that the club meets annual budget targets.
The Marine Manager will direct the Marine staff, to include Sailing Secretary, Bosun and Assistant Bosun ensuring that objectives and targets are set and monitored through regular appraisals, personal and team meetings.
Induct and train staff into the Marine department, safe operating practices and health and safety procedures.
Administer Club Racing, providing Notice of Race, Sailing Instructions and Manuals for the Race Officers. Ensure the equipment required is available and in working order.
Negotiate with Classes with regard to the booking of Championships and Open Meetings, and communicate these requirements to the Racing Committee.
Maintain the events Calendar, co-ordinate the booking of events and training. Liaise with the Racing, Youth, Training and Cruising Committees to maximise events within the club.
Publicise the Calendar through mailings, website, local clubs, and representations at the Dinghy Show.
Ensure timely publication of Notice of Race, Entry Form and Sailing Instructions for events and Open Meetings.
Maintain the Marine Equipment and moorings to the standards set by Racing, Cruising and Management Committees.
Maintain the Club boats to the standards set by Racing, Cruising and Management Committees.
Propose a satisfactory renewal programme for the boats and equipment, seek its approval through appropriate committee.
Report to the Marine Committees with regard to budgets and activity within the marine department in preparation for monthly meetings.
Maintain the marine budgets, sign off expenses where they are within the budget and seek approval where they are over budget.
Provide Winter lay-up Programme, maximise income and efficiency.

SALARY

Salary Circa £22/£25K per annum depending on experience
