JOB DESCRIPTION
Season: September 2010 (week 2) - May 2011 (week 1)
Aquasail: Pioneering the leisure boating industry in India
Within the first two seasons, Aquasail has already introduced more than 6000 first timers to sailing. Aquasail is the only company in India with its own dedicated fleet of boats ranging from Beneteau power and sailing yachts, Hobie catamarans and kayaks, Laser beach boats and Neil Pryde windsurfing boards. Aquasail's team consists of extremely qualified and highly passionate sailors. Aquasail was founded by Shakeel Kudrolli who has over 35 years of experience in racing and training at both national and international level.
Aquasail currently has two destinations where we run all our on water operations. One in the heart of Mumbai City and the other is a beach venue. Aquasail runs a variety of courses as per international standards under the banner of the Aquasail Yachting Academy (AYA). Aquasail has successfully conducted unique and powerful teambuilding and leadership programs and pioneered a variety of corporate regattas in the country.
Aquasail has all sails set to reach new horizons and welcome those who want to be part of our growth story in India.
Instructors needed for various on water roles
. To introduce people to leisure boating
. To help design and structure courses and to instruct as per course design. These include Keel boat courses, dinghy courses, windsurfing courses, cruising courses, etc
. Ensuring that yachts are maintained and documentation and systems are in place
. All instructors will be an integral part of all on water activities events and programs like the Splash (introduced to new comers), Sailience programs (Corporate Team building), events and regattas
. Candidates with relevant experience will get an opportunity to lead teams and to contribute in on and off water roles
Basic Qualification and Experience for all roles
. Relevant RYA certification or equivalent certification for any of the above mentioned profiles
. Minimum 3 years experience in teaching/instructing
. Experience in water sports centre/sailing school or a water sports company
. Good knowledge of basic boat maintenance and other related aspects
. Candidates with multiple certifications will be given additional preference
. Candidates with a racing background will be given additional preference
Other Requirements
All instructors would be expected to help in course design creation, modification and execution. They must be good at their role and enjoy teaching first timers with confidence. All instructors will be a part of programs, regattas, etc., hence racing skills, the ability to work in teams and leadership skills are critical. Depending on experience and aptitude instructors will be able to do other roles beyond instructing. Aquasaill believes in working as a team and giving opportunities to people to participate in more than simply what their immediate role requires. All instructors will be expected to participate in operations, planning, as well as to take on other responsibilities that might find interesting and of relevance to the organisation.

. result oriented, resourceful and enjoy challenges
. able to adapt to working in a new culture
