PROJECT ACCOUNTANT - WORLDWIDE

JOB DESCRIPTION

High Aspect International Pte Ltd has been awarded the contract to run and operate the entry for Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing on behalf of its sponsors in the Volvo Ocean Race 2011-2012. We are seeking a dedicated team accountant for the project, which consists of 2 phases :-
  •     Setting up the team and operating an extensive training program In the UAE and Europe prior to the race start (September 2010 to October 2011)
  •     Operating and running the team in the race from November 2011 to July 2012

The race consists of 9 legs that will navigate the globe and the team accountant will travel as part of the shore team to all stopovers and be required to travel and live abroad extensively in the pre-race period.

The role entails:
  •     Recording all accounting entries in the accounting software package (Accounts IQ).
  •     Establishing and maintaining controls over the purchases for the company.
  •     Maintaining the creditors ledger and making payments to creditors.
  •     Posting all bank account transactions and completing bank reconciliations
  •     Petty cash and credit card control
  •     Expenses review and approval
  •     Preparation of monthly management accounts and subsequent review with departmental managers, skipper, the board and the ADTA.
  •     Cash flow forecasting
  •     Preparation of accounts for statutory reporting and liaison with the Auditors 

We expect, that you will:
  •     Have at least 3-5 years relevant accounting experience
  •     Work pro-actively and be solely responsible for the accounting entries
  •     Preferably have experience and/or knowledge of the yacht racing industry
  •     Have a good sense of order and flair for important details and have strong attention to detail
  •     Preferably have some basic IT support skills
  •     Have excellent knowledge of Microsoft products such as Word, Excel and Power-point
  •     Be willing to assist in all other aspects of the team including administrative and logistical activities as required
  •     Be able to travel and re-locate for lengthy periods with the team throughout the duration of the contract. You must be able to meet visas entry requirements for countries that are part of the port stopovers and training venues. These include EU, South Africa, China, NZ, Brazil, Europe and UAE
