NAVAL ARCHITECT - £35,000 - £50,000pa – NORTH EAST, UK

JOB DESCRIPTION
Primary responsibility will be for a structural design, and a good working knowledge of major classification society rules is essential. Duties and responsibilities will include:
-Preparation of preliminary/concept general arrangement drawings
-Preparation of scantling calculations for new ships and modification works
-Preparation of basic design drawings with an emphasis on structure and outfit

We need:
Applicants should hold a Bachelor or Masters Degree in Naval Architecture, with 3 to 5 years design office experience, or equivalent (10 years +) design office / shipyard experience.

Proficiency in MS Office and Autocad are essential, and experience with the following software will be highly regarded:
*DNV Nautics, Lloyds Rulecalc or similar calculation software
*3D beam / FEA software packages
*Maxsurf / Hydromax /Aveva Initial Design (or similar stability software)
*Rhinoceros and 3D Studiomax
*NavCad
*Ship Constructor


SALARY 

£35,000-£50,000 pa
