JOB DESCRIPTION
 
PARALYMPIC BOSUN - SKANDIA TEAM GBR

Responsibilities

  • .Ensuring all competition equipment is ready to race, reliable and in compliance with class rules before racing.
  • Inspect competition equipment after racing and rectifying faults
  • .Assist athletes in adjusting equipment and make changes to optimise performance.
  • Repair equipment in the event of accidental damage.
  • Prepare equipment before and after shipping to ensure safe transit and optimum performance in regatta venues.
  • Maintain ancillary equipment (e.g. trailers, wheelchairs, etc.)
Requirements
  • Significant experience in the maintenance and repair of dinghies or small keelboats and associated equipment
  • Self-sufficient and able to plan and execute work to an extremely high standard, often with limited facilities and within tight deadlines
  • An outstanding team player.
  • Full driving licence with B+E (trailer) entitlement.
  • EU passport

A significant element of the job will involve working overseas and at unsocialable hours.  There will be a requirement to complete tasks to tight schedules.


The appointment will initially be on a fixed term contract of 75-100 days per year to September 2012.


There may also be opportunities for the appointed person to work with individual Paralympic Team Members on boat optimisation and preparation outside the regatta environment, that will increase the total days worked on the programme.
