JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a permanent Skipper for our Clipper 60s to join our young vibrant team offering day sails in the Solent. This is an amazing opportunity to work for a very customer focused business, running hands-on, exciting day sailing experiences.

Blue Box Sailing was set up in 2003 with the aim to offer the best sailing experiences in the UK and give people the opportunity sail on Ocean Race Yachts for the day - to experience what it's all about and hopefully catch the sailing bug.  We now run experiences on our four 60ft Ocean Race Yachts - three Clipper 60s and a Whitbread 60.  In the last 12 years we have taken over 20,000 customers sailing and our focus is to ensure that every experience as special as the first.

Whilst the primary requirement of the role is to run the sailing experiences, the position will also involve undertaking routine maintenance duties on all of our yachts and assisting in the annual refit of the yachts from November to February.  Previous maintenance experience is therefore an advantage.

The successful candidate must be a RYA Yachtmaster Commercially Endorsed and whilst we are interested in previous experience, your ability to engage with clients from a wide range of backgrounds and work well within a team is key.

As a guideline we are looking for applicants with:
Over 20,000 miles logged
Over 5 years commercial sailing experience
Previous instructing experience in sailing or another discipline
Experience of Skippering 50ft plus yachts
However we will consider exceptional candidates with less or different experience.

An excellent knowledge of the Solent would be advantageous, along with an enthusiastic, fun and outgoing personality and a passion for sailing.
