JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:

Designing and specifying marine propulsion systems (stern gear).
To liaise with customers regarding product specifications.
Process and plan drawings, issue and sign off by customer.
Working with classification societies to insure systems conform to Class.
Insure commercial viability of all systems.
Ensure that all work is carried out within office procedures and protocols.

Able to work on projects both alone and as part of a small and focused team.
Able to issue design information to tight deadlines with minimum supervision where required.
To have an enthusiastic, self-motivated and analytical approach.
To possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
To be able to communicate all design information clearly to others involved in the design and production of the project (working in liaison with the sales and purchasing departments).
Exemplary phone manner.
Flexible ‘Can do’ attitude as the position – this is essential as the position will both overlap with and support the sales department.
Desire to gain varied project experience in a technical environment.
Good face to face client interface.
Happy to travel when required to see customers and to assist at trade shows (worldwide).
Motivated to continually strive to develop personal skill and knowledge in all aspects of marine design, to enable future advancement in both personal ability, and future projects.
