JOB DESCRIPTION
Clarenco are looking for an exceptional Maintenance Controller/Boatman to join our successful entrepreneurial company who can bring experience and expertise to the exciting projects we are working on in the Solent; including support to the operational team at the unique Spitbank Fort.

Key Responsibilities:

To operate and maintain the services / supplies on Solent Forts in accordance with manufacturer's guide lines and statutory legislation in relation to testing and servicing to ensure maximum efficiencies are met and a consistent and unbroken service is provided as and when required
To operate and maintain Solent Forts boats (currently 1 Rib and 1 Cat). Ensuring compliance to all statutory bodies are met at all times in regard to servicing, H&S requirements, use and cleanliness.
Ensuring every element of the boats primary function is maintained at a readiness to perform its intended duty.
Oversee Maintenance works to agreed specifications both using internal and external resources, ensuring that work is undertaken to the required standards and within agreed timescales and costs.
Create & Monitor Maintenance budgets to ensure that they are appropriately allocated and so that the Company achieves the best value for money for both Planned and Reactive Maintenance to ensure that buildings and services are maintained to the required standards.
Create and Manage a Planned preventive maintenance programme for all elements of Solent Forts.
Ensure Compliance with all statutory requirements via a rolling planned schedule of attendance, testing and report generation.
Monitor and manage all necessary systems and procedures to ensure the safety and security of buildings and services.
Provide technical advice and designs on all future M&E elements of development; design and implementation of Maintenance and Engineering installations across Solent Forts.
Providing valuable strategic assistance in complex projects and guide the senior team in relation to Mechanical and Electrical design and installations.
Recognised 'company technical expert' in the discipline, with support from other key (external) engineers which includes all types of Power Systems, including renewable energy sources and solutions.
Thorough liaison with Service Provider Companies including Gas, Water & Electric in relation to installations and upgrades.
Project work includes resource allocation, lead engineering support, determining work flow, man hour spread and forward loading and progress measurement.
Must be able to work with wide range of customers/suppliers and colleagues to help inform and shape requirements as well as presenting progress on various projects.



Key Skills / Experience:

Marine Engineering experience.
Wide knowledge of mechanical and electrical installations.
Wide knowledge and understanding of marine boats servicing and maintaining.
Knowledge of renewable energies would be advantageous.
Knowledge of air handling systems.
Crane / Hoist operation experience.
Previous design experience of M&E installations.
Excellent working knowledge of Generators and Engines and maintaining them. (Hands on)
Boat licence with a minimum of 2 years' experience.
