Job Function:


We are seeking an experienced manager to be responsible for the total management of Sailing Schools operations.  Oman Sail currently has three centres open with a 4th to be opened at the end of the year.  With added cultural and language challenges the complexity of creating instructors, setting up schools and growing sailing in Oman should not be underestimated.


Key Responsibilities Areas

Understand the Oman Sail 2020 plan, specifically the roll out of further schools and the targets set for participation
Ensure schools achieve monthly/annual targets for:
Community participation
Youth performance pathway retention
Revenue from commercial activities
Responsible for developing and maintaining Operating Procedures, which are specific for each School
Carry out centre inspections
Responsible for developing the National Sailing Scheme that is endorsed by ISAF and is tailored for Oman
Create and manage the national Sailing School budget and liaise with the Commercial Operations Manager regarding the strategic planning for each centre
Ensure on-going staff development for all tiers of sailing school staff
Ensure all staff receive performance reviews
Monitor and record client feedback, and ensure managers make appropriate adaptations to their Operating Procedures.
Develop and implement new commercial programmes that decrease the dependency on Ministerial money. 
Liaise and work with relevant Ministries.
Work with the Marketing and Communications Department to ensure that activity is marketed effectively and the profile of the Schools remains high.
Implement an apprenticeship scheme to allow on the job training through to instructor level and develop hierarchy within the instructional staff.
