Company Background

TMM is a family owned and operated Bareboat Yacht Charter and Management Company with bases in the British Virgin Islands, The Grenadines and Belize. The company has been operating since 1979 and under the present ownership since 1983. We pride ourselves on excellent customer service both to our boat owners and also our charter guests.

Position

Operations Manager to manage our fleet of 35 yachts and a maintenance staff of approximately 20 at our base in Road Town, Tortola.

Responsibilities

Management of dock staff and scheduling of work rosters.
Allocation of work to all maintenance employees and billing of their time.
Production of monthly worksheets for owners.
Parts procurement, control and billing.
Responsibility for the maintenance and repair of the fleet of yachts, dinghies and outboards. including liaison with boat owners.
Responsibility for the preparation of boats for charter.
Final checking of boats prior to charter guest arrival.
Assisting with chart briefing, check sailing and return debriefing of charter guests on busy days.
All aspects of customer service.
Movement of boats in the marina, fueling, security and safety of boats.
Hurricane and bad weather preparedness.
Maintaining and improving the quality of our product.
Security of the marina including the dinghy park, vehicles and buildings.
Maintaining the TMM workshop, operations office and store rooms in a clean and tidy condition.
Maintenance of company owned vehicles, chase boats and standby generator.


Experience, Qualifications and Skills

A good in depth knowledge of all yacht systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, refrigeration, sails and rigging.
Ideally have prior experience in the yacht charter industry.
An RYA Yachtmaster Certificate or equivalent.
Computer literate and have a good command of the English language.
A second language either Spanish or French would be a distinct advantage.
The ability to scuba dive and to deliver boats would be advantageous.



Must be prepared to work weekends, holidays and long hours.
This is a demanding position in a service industry and so the position also requires a lot of interaction with our charter clients.
Good people management, organizational skills and the ability to perform under pressure are also essential.

$40,000 - $50,000 US Dollars/year depending on qualifications and skills
