An opportunity has arisen for an individual looking to develop their sales career within an established UK marine business. The business holds an exceptionally stable financial position and is now looking to build on this through investment in people to develop the UK and export markets.  The business focus is orientated around quality, customer service and British manufacturing. The role will suit someone that is able to thrive off these values and drive business off the back of this message.

The role

The role will be primarily focused on covering the south of England with a focus on retail, service and OEM markets.  Predominantly field/home based there will be regular office based sales meetings to ensure that the support is provided within the team. Dependant on location more office based roles are available. The successful candidate will be responsible for both existing business, from a large customer base, while also focusing on new business development within the geographical area. Knowledge of the industry and people will be highly beneficial although not essential. A good knowledge of sailing or commercial marine experience will help the successful candidate with the development of the market.

The position will be reporting to the UK sales manager and will form part of a larger team that is focused on increasing market share.

The candidate

The successful candidate should be career minded and enjoy a challenge. The ability to travel within the UK and spend an amount of time away from home will be essential. The ability to work both on their own yet forming part of a larger team will be required. Degree level education is beneficial although not essential and an attention to detail and a passion for product based sales will aid the successful candidate once within the role. Previous sales b2b sales experience is essential.

Financial reward

The salary rate will be based on experience and market knowledge however; where this exists, packages above market rate can be expected. There are multiple ways in which the market can be split and therefore applications from all experience and skill levels can be explored. The external role will also include a company car, laptop and phone.
