JOB DESCRIPTION

As a recognised RYA training centre we are seeking an RYA Chief Instructor. Candidates should be confident, with a wide experience of instruction at all levels and all age groups.  You will be a well organised person with strong leadership skills and the charisma to lead the instructor team, add value to club members and their experience at the club.

Reporting to the Club General Manager you will lead compliance to health and safety, staff training and reporting with the outcome of the delivery of high quality sailing and powerboat experiences for course participants and club members.

Qualifications - RYA Coach Assessor is highly desired.

Essential - RYA senior instructor, Power boat instructor, RYA Race Coach Level 2 or RYA advanced trainer.

Desirable - RYA First Aid Trainer, RYA Powerboat Trainer, BCU level 2 Coach, experiential learning, RYA shore based qualifications.

Key Objectives

To promote the vision and values of Spinnaker Club through the high quality delivery of instruction and coaching at the club.
To develop, review and implement club procedures, risk management, safety plans and documentation.
Prepare for the centres inspections including all aspects of registration, compliance, equipment inspections and maintenance.
Support the centres administration through telephone and face to face enquires and information on training and club activities.
Take responsibility for operational compliance with the clubs guidelines and procedures.
Lead the programme of equipment management, maintenance and recording.
To work in conjunction with the management team to plan training courses and course content for schools, user groups and activity programmes.

**The post in the first instance is a fixed term contract from June 2013 to September 30th 2013**

Salary will be by negotiation depending on qualifications and experience. 

There is scope for a winter role that would be discussed with a successful candidate.
