JOB DESCRIPTION
Main Purpose of Job:

To analyse, survey & prepare tenders for clients, mainly marine interior outfitting tenders up to multi million pounds in value.

Principal Tasks:

1. Survey sites for information.
2. Estimate costs for carrying out work, i.e. materials, labour, overheads
3. Prepare tenders for presentation to clients.
4. Analyse Tenders for the companies’ suitability.
5. Promote and maintain Health and Safety across projects, teams and business
6. Other duties requested by management in support of the team

Job facts:

This job is based at the Head Office in Hampshire and will also involve visiting client sites across the UK, and possibly the world.

How: face to face in meetings, in writing and by phone

As the project surveyor you will be reporting to the commercial manager

Essential requirements of job holder:

• Previous experience in estimating for large tenders / contracts
• Experience of the marine industry is desirable
• Knowledge of some trades, e.g. soft furnishing, joinery, mechanical & electrical.
• Articulate; a good communicator who can ask relevant questions
• Good analytical skills
• Accurate; pays attention to detail
• Literate & numerate to Level 2 (eg 5 GCSE’s at grade C or above)
• Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Team worker
• Self-motivated,
• Willing to be flexible
• Self confident,
• Able to present a professional image
