JOB DESCRIPTION
With immediate effect, we are looking for a Technical On-Board Trainer to supplement the team operating within our unique Training Projecton ships managed by Uniteam Marine.

Responsibilities:

    Objective,on-scene assessment of shipboard working procedures within the area of personal expertise(Engine Department’s routines and overall vessel’s safety/emergencyprocedures)
    Identifying causes of substandard crew’s performance and determining the best solutions to identified problems
    Whenever possible,immediatere solving identified issues through:
    Workplace instructions
    Training sessions
    Guiding shipboard teams and individual crew members
    Resolving cross-cultural problems
    Promoting best management practices
    Motivating the crews for self-development and best possible performance
    Identifying external factors impeding ships’ performance

   Reporting:

    Assessment findings
    Actions taken onboard
    Effectiveness of applied measures and recommended follow-up
    Suggestionsfor solutionsof identified external problems
    Coordinating ship-office actions for solution of critical issues
    Active participation in development of Company procedures
    If required, conducting on-board internal audits of the Environmental Management System


Required qualifications:

    At least 3 years of recent, trace able sea service as Chief Engineer on ships of 10,000 kW propulsion power or more or, alternatively, 3 yearsof recent experience in a similar position within shipping organisation
    Experience in working in a multicultural environment
    Excellent command of the English language
    Strong analytical,leadership and management abilities as well as excellent communication skills
    Flexibility and willingness to travel worldwide
    Valid standard, unlimited maritime medical fitness certificate
    Experiencein the field of maritime education will be considered an advantage


The On-Board Trainer will report to the Marine Department. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive, in-house familiarisation/training prior to assuming designated shipboard duties.
