JOB DESCRIPTION
Clipper Ventures is recruiting a suitably qualified, experienced and motivated person to undertake the role of Fleet Bosun on a 6 month, fixed term contract.
The primary role of the Fleet Bosun is to ensure that the fleet is in a clean, tidy and presentable state at all times. Responsibility also extends to recording yacht defects and reporting these to the Head of Training.
Clipper Ventures own and operate 12 x Clipper 70's and 8 x Clipper 68's. Both of these fleets are involved in training the crews who sign up to do the race but are also involved in corporate sailing and other events. In addition Clipper Ventures is an RYA Training Centre and runs the RYA Cruising Scheme and also undertakes bespoke training for third party organisations.
The Fleet Bosun reports directly to the Head of Clipper Training.
Skills/Characteristics/Experience/Qualifications
The successful applicant shall:
Commercially endorsed RYA Yachtmaster/Coastal Skipper
Have knowledge of marine diesel engines
Have knowledge of yacht systems
Be highly organised and self motivated
Have high personal standards
Be willing to be flexible and have a go at anything
Ability to work on own initiative
Work the hours and days required to get the job done
Have excellent interpersonal skills

Tasks
The role will be split into daily, weekly and monthly tasks. An example of these tasks is listed below and is by no means exhaustive or any order of importance.
Checking yacht systems such as shore power, battery chargers and voltages
Checking mooring lines and fendering
Run up main and generator engines including engine checks
Run up yacht systems such as radar, instruments and fresh water
General cleanliness and tidiness of deck;
Ensure general presentation of yachts above and below deck is immaculate
Complete daily/weekly/monthly work reports to monitor condition of the fleet
Working hours
Hours of work will be 08.30 to 17.00, 5 days per week including some weekends
Terms of Contract
1. The position is a fixed term contract for a period of 6 months, based at our Training Department office, Gosport Marina
2. The applicant will be granted 25 days holiday per year & the statutory English bank holidays
3. The successful applicant will be paid £18,200, paid monthly in arrears
4. There will be a 3 month probationary period
5. Pension contribution to company scheme

JOB DESCRIPTION
Represent McMurdo Group/Marine products in selected region
- Manage sales to a set forecast and profitability grow regional sales making recommendations for improving our market position
- Develop and maintain strategic working relationships with assigned clients and understand each client's technical and business needs
- Maintain a key pursuit list and associated activities in CRM system
- Make sales call needed to initiate new business and document in CRM
- Manage sales opportunities from qualification to close, including preparation of quotations, presentations and negotiation
- Provide weekly and monthly sales reports as requested to manager and quarterly forecast updates
- Manage sales through distributor channels, maintaining regular contact with each distributor to ascertain future sales opportunities, market developments, competitor activity, on hand inventory, promotional activities planned and how they are performing
- Coordinate and facilitate post-sales support and customer training
- Provide key customer relationship management
- Support/lead creation and implementation of market and customer development strategies and plans
- Establish and meet yearly, quarterly and monthly sales budgets
- Harnessing individual company, and group internal synergies and market opportunities
- Cross-company exploitation of products, services and markets
- Work closely with marketing to develop go to market strategy and materials
- Will have some reporting responsibility to the group level national sales manger
Education Requirements
- Technical Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Experience Requirements
- Proven experience of successfully working in sales management within the maritime industry
- Proven experience of successfully working in a fast-paced, international, and emerging technology company environment
- Experience with key account management and business capture plans
Skills and Competencies Requirements
- Ideally candidate would be fluent in French
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- A strong understanding of customer and business requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Quickly adaptable in different situations
- Ability to work well in a pressurised environment

Reporting to Head Service Manager, the main responsibilities of this individual is to provide first class warranty, commissioning and maintenance services, as well as manage the department to keep technical service records, manage the in house engineers as well as sub-contractors and perform final checks and sign off on all the work completed.
The role will also require the Service Manager to handle the required paperwork, arrange logistics, keep all records organised and accessible, submit and chase up warranty/insurance claims, calculate cost estimates and be very communicative between other departments in the company and in liaising with important external connections.
The right candidate will have an extensive technical knowledge and engineering/boat building background at a senior level and experienced in managing teams from a multitude of cultural backgrounds.

The initial role of this Senior Instructor will be to Commission this state-of-the-art centre and aid the centre in acquiring MCA Approval.
