JOB DESCRIPTION
Premier Endeavour Quay is seeking to recruit into a Boat Yard Operative to join its small but dedicated lifting team.

The team work within a busy boatyard operation in Gosport whilst offering a high level of customer service they lift some of the fastest and biggest yachts in the Solent.

Previous experience and knowledge of the marine sector is preferred.

Forklift licence essential. Mobile crane licence preferred but not essential. Full training on all plant provided.

Principal Responsibilities:

These should comprise the major aspects of the job, which are fundamental to Endeavour Quay's safe and successful performance-
  • To have sole responsibly for operating all the yard plant and equipment and the management of the maintenance programme to ensure the efficient and safe operation.
  • To be the "Competent person" within the team who operates all the plant and equipment for the purposes of lifting and storing boats ashore and the general cranage work at both Endeavour Quay.
  • To contribute to the planning and allocation of space for vessels that requires storage space, both in the building and outside.
  •  Liaise with boat owners and skippers as to the safe/strong points of lifting and to ensure that all pre lifting/launching checks have been made and recorded.
  • To handle boats afloat to bring them safely to the dock or return them to their berth.
  • To contribute to the longer term planning and development of the boatyard operation.
  • To understand and be competent in carrying out all the emergency procedures.
  • To carry out the daily checks, planned maintenance and repair of all the pontoons, plant and machinery.
  • To contribute to the management of  the environmental aspects of the waste management of tenants and contractors that are working within the yard
  • To contribute to the review of boat yard services and general strategy of the boat yard operation
  • To ensure that all complaints are dealt with effectively and details passed on to the Yard Foreman.
  • Conduct general customer liaisons to ensure the highest standard of customer care.
  • To advise the management of any areas within your scope that are giving you causes for concern.
  • To comply with the Company's Health and Safety policies and that of the Health and Safety Executive.
  • Any other duties required by the Management
