JOB DESCRIPTION
The Royal Yachting Association, based in Hamble, is the national governing body for all forms of boating, including dinghy and yacht racing, motor and sail cruising, RIBs and sports boats, powerboat racing, windsurfing, inland cruising and narrowboats, and personal watercraft.

Our ambition is to be the best sailing nation in the world.  Do you want to be part of the team who achieves that?  The Youth Racing Department's primary focus is to support and develop youth sailors to win medals for the British Youth Sailing Team, as well as retaining our young racers in the sport.  Help us with our mission and join our fast-paced, dynamic, world class team.  If you can demonstrate the right mind-set, passion, commitment and competencies to achieve the ambition, then read on.

One of our team is taking some time out to become a Mum, so we need you to manage a variety of projects ranging from one-day domestic training camps to 2 week World Championships while she is away!  On top of this you will be expected to ensure your event logistics provide a cost effective solution every time.  Reporting to the RYA Youth Racing Manager, in addition to managing his dairy and logistics, you will work alongside two other Senior Administrators and the Youth Racing Operations Manager forming a cohesive team of outstanding individuals.

Computer proficiency is paramount, we love an excel spreadsheet, do you?  We also use online event entry systems for all our in-house events and your duties will also include regular editing of the RYA website.   While computer literacy is essential you also need to be a good verbal communicator.  We need someone who is not afraid to talk, or listen; be sympathetic, yet stand their ground.  Daily interaction with sailors, parents, coaches, sailing venues and travel companies, both in the UK and abroad, means that this job is never dull and no two days are the same.

If you are an organised, energetic, self-starter with a meticulous and methodical mind whose work may also involve the odd day (or week) out of the office then fill out the application form and make us notice you by highlighting your capabilities and relevant experience.

Although a passion for sailing is desirable, it is not essential.

An application form and job description can be downloaded from

Please note that we do not accept CV's in lieu of a fully completed application form.

Closing date : 1200hrs on 17 June 2015. Interviews to be held on 23 June 2015
