We are looking for an enthusiastic and personable Skipper to work aboard Clipper 60s Taeping, Serica and Mermerus for the 2016 season. This is an opportunity to work for a very customer focused business, running hands-on, exciting day sailing experience days out on the Solent.
Blue Box Sailing was set up in 2003 with the aim to offer the best sailing experiences in the UK and give people the opportunity to sail on Ocean Race Yachts for the day – to experience what it's all about and hopefully catch the sailing bug.
Based at Hamble Point Marina on the River Hamble, we are ideally positioned in the middle of the Solent with access to great sailing grounds. With a hands on focus every customer who steps on board has the opportunity to really experience life aboard an Ocean Race Yacht. From steering to winching to working on the foredeck participants can be as involved in the sailing as they wish.

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
- RYA Yachtmaster Commercially Endorsed
- Minimum of 10,000 miles logged
- Previous commercial Skippering Experience
- Previous instructing experience
It would also be advantageous to have:
- Experience of sailing on 50ft plus yachts
- Previous sailing experience on the Solent
- An enthusiastic, fun and outgoing personality
- A genuine passion for sailing and teaching others
Terms of employment: The position is 5 days a week fixed term from Mid-March to the end of September 2016. Working hours are normally 8am to 5pm and working days are supplied on a roster a month in advance. The position involves working most weekends and bank holidays.
Rate of Pay: £20,000 – £30,000 per annum pro rata, dependent on experience (this is equivalent to a monthly pay of £1,666 – £2,500)
