JOB DESCRIPTION
Key responsibilities: - Create and deliver innovative PR strategy.
- Implement the agreed PR strategy to set objectives and media targets.
- Commission and then manage external PR agents/agencies as required across different markets around the world.
- Liaising with media (specialist, lifestyle, business, etc) on a regular basis to secure coverage of events.
- Attendance at events to ensure PR and communications delivery.
- Maximise ROI and media value for the stakeholders.
- Reporting to stakeholders and the board of directors.
- Manage the strategy and activation of media monitoring and evaluation.
- Implement a PR campaign with targeted event communications.
- Create new and social media opportunities to engage audience and footfall at events.
- Create Media Partnership deals
Core skills/experience will include:
- Strong experience with a proven track record on delivering highcalibre and results-driven consumer PR campaigns, with experience of sporting events.
- Good level of international media contacts and experience of working with different cultures.
- Ability to manage a team plus external suppliers including creating briefs/targets and managing budgets.
- Capability to liaise with and report to sponsors and partners at a senior level.
- Strong writing skills (English).
- Knowledge of the sport of sailing preferred but not essential.
- Ability to work on-site at events throughout the year.
It is noted that:
- Knowledge of sailing (either as a sport or participation in) is less important than the core skills.
- TV production experience is beneficial but not essential.
- More than one language is beneficial but not essential.
- Knowledge of Microsoft programmes essential and Mac operator beneficial but not essential.
