JOB DESCRIPTION
Main duties and responsibilities:

General
All yacht preparation on turnaround days including deck cleaning
Briefing clients on safety and yacht systems
Sharing knowledge of local area in briefings
Advising on sailing questions
Any other duties as directed by the Base Manager.

Flotilla
Safety of all clients throughout the week
Presentation and maintenance of yachts
Full first day briefing to entire flotilla and daily briefings to clients on route including weather information
Greeting clients and assisting boarding
Safe mooring of all yachts each day
Socialising with guests
Day to day running repairs and assistance to break downs or call outs
Regular checks on equipment and specifically safety equipment.
Assisting with the organisation of group meals, BBQ's, competitions and punch parties
Writing weekly reports on the flotilla
Cleanliness & good presentation of lead boat at all times
Ensuring host & engineer are fulfilling their duties
Assisting the lead crew with all aspects of running the flotilla.

Bareboat
Skippering charters of up to 9 clients at a time
Yacht deliveries
Call outs and maintenance
Regular checks on equipment and specifically safety equipment.
Base/ flotilla support when not on charter

Working conditions:
Main duties will centre around the yachts, the base and ports of call. Working hours vary and you MUST be flexible to cover operational requirements. You may at times be required to assist with other flotillas either as a Skipper or Engineer or to work as a Bareboat Skipper.

Requirements:

    RYA Yacht Master Offshore with Commercial Endorsement
    Ability to work under pressure and make difficult decisions
    Experience in a customer focused environment
    Sociable and positive personality
    Strong organisational skills

Providing professional Instruction to all levels whilst ensuring a safe sailing environment. All employees work as a team to offer a high level of customer service at all times.

Qualifications & Personal Skills

Essential
RYA Yachtmaster Offshore with Commercial Endorsement
RYA Cruising Instructor
Powerboat level 2 (desirable)
Safety Boat Drivers certificate (desirable)
Knowledge of health & safety legislation
Ability to work as a reliable member of the team
Highly motivated individual
Good communication skills- oral and written
Excellent customer service skills
First Aid certificate

Responsibilities

Deliver RYA courses to the highest standard complying with the RYA regulations and company standards
Deliver Company specific courses as per standards, polices and procedures
Liaise with Chief Yachtmaster Instructor any maintenance requirements s or damage to the yachts.
Be responsible for the over all cleaning and set up of the yachts throughout the season
Ensure correct paperwork is completed as per local laws and regulations
Run effective rescue boat cover.
Running of weekly Yacht Races and mini-flotillas.
When on duty maintain a lookout over the whole sailing area.
Carry out beach duties, including rigging and de-rigging of boats and launch and recovery of all boats maintaining safety of the guests and craft.
Provide excellent customer service at all time.
Carry out transfer day duties, such as representing the company at the airport
Carry out other duties within your ability as requested by your line manager.
You will be required to be flexible in your job role and may be required to move between different resorts or departments according to operational needs

Salary: £585-£650 pm
