JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client, a leading UK Yacht Manufacturer, has a new vacancy for a Warranty Field Service Engineer with mechanical expertise.  The main aim of the role is to provide product support and undertake customer service/warranty visits, diagnose and rectify warranty defects on dealer / customer boats in the field.

The position demands a highly self-motivated, flexible person, who can self manage, with excellent mechanical engineering skills and a sound knowledge of luxury motor yachts.

The successful candidate must:

Be fully experienced with all aspects of propulsion systems and auxiliary machinery, hydraulic systems, grey, black and fresh water systems and a sound knowledge of luxury motor yachts.
Be able to work the necessary hours to suit the job requirements and to achieve the objectives of the customer and the Warranty Field Service Supervisor.
Be able to work alone and as part of a team.
Have good people and communication skills and be able to liaise and communicate at all levels both internally and externally in a professional manner, applying tact and diplomacy even when under pressure.
Be prepared to frequently work away from the UK, at short notice for long periods of time as the job demands.
Hold a current passport and full driving licence.
Have good computer skills - MS Word, Excel and Email are essential, you must also be able to write detailed reports on any investigations / recurring faults as required, feedback to Production via our quality system in a timely manner to ensure our quality department / production department implement a solution to new and current models on the production line.
STCW 95 qualification would be an advantage.
