Due to a strong level of interest and development of their new range, Fairline Yachts are once again seeking a number of individuals to join their in-house Design Team. 

With the existing range receiving an overhaul as well as new models announced, the brand has presented a strong outlook for the future. In order to complete works on the new range and continue to evolve Fairline Yachts, the Design Manager has identified the need for an Electrical Design Engineer to join the company. 

Through their partnership with Vripack in The Netherlands, Fairline Yachts are further improving their onboard systems. This in turn means that the electrical side of each craft will be receiving refinement, improvement and re-design in order to effectively power each area of the boat. 

With the overall evolution in electrics and electronics, alongside the usual levels of electrical routing and setup, there will be extensive work with Digital and CAN-BUS systems as these continue to develop into the Marine world. Systems are becoming more and more intricate and the kinds of communication involved in being able to manage them is becoming very complex. 

As the Electrical Design Engineer, your role will focus heavily around the full engineering, design  and troubleshooting of systems on each craft, finding new and improved ways in which to lay out the electrical systems and assign communication between them. 

The ideal candidate will have gained a background of experience within the marine sector, ideally in leisure marine boatbuilding, working with the aforementioned CAN-BUS Systems. You'll be well versed with Solidworks, able to effectively devise and engineer ways in which to set up both the existing and new range to function to the best of their ability.

Fairline Yachts are busy evolving their existing and new range of luxury powerboats for the leisure market. Following an excellent relaunch in 2016, the brand is continuing to grow its in house design team to work alongside its external partners. 

As part of this expansion process, it has been identified that the brand require a Team Lead to Oversee their Custom Projects Department. Whilst Fairline already offer 16 different layout potentials across each hull size, they also offer a Full Custom option to their customers, with the potential to re-engineer layouts and systems across the craft. 

Leading a team of Design Engineers and Draughtspeople, your role will be to head up this Custom department. You will pick up contact with the customer at the point of their custom request coming through. You'll take on board their ideas and put them onto paper/screen, working to produce a final rendering that expertly mirrors the customers request. 

From here, your designs will be passed to your team, who will ensure that all requests are fully engineered, with the draughting team preparing the works for Production to make a reality. 

To be considered for this role you'll need to exhibit the following attributes:

– A strong customer-facing manner. Able to talk to customers at any level from a position of knowledge, advising on what can and can't be done in line with their needs. 

– A creative mind – You'll need to be able to put ideas onto paper quickly and efficiently before creating 3d models of your ideas for customer approval.

– Leadership qualities, to effectively manage your in house team in bringing the custom ideas to reality. 

– Strong 3D Modelling skill (Ideally Solidworks)

You'll have gained your experience within the leisure marine world in a similar role and be ready to hit the ground running with this exciting new role.

Working as the mid-point between Sales and Production, this interesting role will focus around the production of concepts, General Arrangements and concept works for use within the quotation and tender-winning processes that are commonplace within this busy industry. Using you in-depth skills, you'll be a key team-member, able to advise all areas of the business on potential supplies/suppliers, ways in which designs can be improved upon and also on production processes that may assist in streamlining costs/production time. 

With a background of experience gained working within Joinery/Interior Design Draughting, you'll possess a strong understanding of the Joinery production process and be able to use this when compiling projects for a client. A versatile individual, you'll problem-solve with all projects, using a high level of attention to detail at all times. You MUST be extensively experienced with Solidworks and Autocad, demonstrating a very strong grasp of the program and able to use it to very good effect.
