CHIEF ENGINEER (PASSENGER BOATS) - £22,000-£30,000pa – SURREY, UK

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is a family river business with a fleet of passenger boats operating on the Thames. The business operates daily river trips during the summer months as well as private charters all year round for weddings, birthdays and corporate events.

They are currently looking for an engineer with good knowledge of diesel engines (6 cylinder).

Applicants must be flexible with hours as weekend working is required.

Responsibilities will include:

Maintenance
  • Oversee day to day maintenance of the vessels in conjunction with the Skipper and Directors in respect of rosters and deployment of staff including Contracts where applicable. This will include updates of ongoing maintenance issues, condition of vessel that may inhibit use, Projects on and off site.
  • Stock Control
  • Controlling Maintenance Stock for all Repairs, Events, upgrades such as Dry Dock and ancillaries.
  • Readiness of Vessel
  • Oversee, advise and assess the vessels readiness to depart prior to departure for tripping and parties, with particular regard to health and safety and MCA Maritime coast guard agency, and other Health and Safety regulations.
  • Annual Maintenance Periods (Dry Dock)
  • Stock Control and Planning, Scheduling and Organising work to be completed during AMP and leasing with Operations Director to schedule dry dock periods. Ensure effective deployment of staff and Contractors and materials.
SALARY

£22,000 - £30,000 pa
