TECHNICAL DESIGN MARINE ENGINEER – SOUTH, UK

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is a leading Yacht Manufacturer based on the South coast.
They currently have a new vacancy in the Design Department for a Marine Engineer.

The successful candidate must:

• Have a degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent (HND level may be acceptable).
• Have 5 years experience of design (Systems and Engineering).
• Be experienced in machinery lay outs and systems arrangements for boats from 40 feet to 100 feet LOA.
• Have used a 3D drawing package however the preference is for someone with design experience before drawing experience.

Purpose of role:

• Design of engineering and systems.
• Produce drawings and information suitable for production, classification societies and owners representatives.
• The drawings must be produced in accordance with the production schedule.

Main responsibilities:

To be responsible for and update the existing process of information flow:

• Technical specification
• Build drawings
• Build specifications (production instruction notes)

The candidate will be expected to discuss and put forward ideas in order to satisfy design requirements.
