SPECIALIST (RULES) - £35,000 - £40,000pa – SOUTH, UK

JOB DESCRIPTION

This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the world leaders who specialise in safety of lives and assets in the marine industry.

As a Rules Specialist, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of challenging work, identified as beneficial to the marine business, both in your specialist field and in more general areas of applied research. You may be required to manage projects that will range from long to short term and will typically lead to innovative solutions related to classification rules and procedures. Depending on the nature of the problem, this may be as an individual or as part of a team.

Job Requirements:

Applicants must hold a recognised degree or equivalent professional qualification in Naval Architecture, or Civil/Structural Engineering or similar discipline, with Chartered Engineer status or the prerequisites towards this, and be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of general engineering principles and practice. Good presentation skills as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good knowledge and understanding of the marine business Rules and Procedures. An interest in expanding scope of knowledge and experience in fatigue or finite element analysis techniques, including the use of software tools is desirable but not essential, as appropriate training would be provided. Ability to analyse technical problems and development solutions thereto, as well as the technical and commercial implications of these solutions. Ability to manage technical projects and proficiency in the English Language commensurate with the work.

SALARY
