We are looking for an additional member of staff to join our energetic team to help us ensure that Universal keeps its reputation for being the best kept marina on the Hamble.
The role is extremely dynamic and incorporates many different aspects of the day to day running of the marina such as daily marina checks, assisting bertholders and tenants, general site and building maintenance, site redevelopment projects and upholding site cleanliness.You will also be required to assist with our increasingly popular dry stacking facility by providing banksman duties and driving the dry stack forklift for which we will provide full training. A large part of this role is outdoor based in year round conditions. There is also some office-based work including booking in & taking payment for visitor berthing.

The applicant should have experience in maintenance and a keen eye for detail, be able to work as part of a team but also have the initiative & motivation to complete tasks on their own. As the role is so varied the successful applicant should be adaptable to new tasks & resourceful in finding solutions to different issues. A knowledge of the marine industry would be an advantage but not essential. Must be computer literate with basic knowledge of Microsoft packages.
The role will require working some weekends on a rota basis.

With further details on the project itself available on request, this contract will require a skilled individual who has worked with medium or low voltage projects. Currently at the state of major trunking being laid, the successful candidate will be overseeing the project from this point forth, ensuring installations run smoothly, classifications and regulations are adhered to and that the project runs to the strict timescales set by the owner. 
You will ideally have worked extensively within such fields as Cruise, Defence or Commercial shipbuilding due to the levels of complexity involved in these projects, being able to mutlitask, manage and develop the project to high standards at all times.
You will ideally have gained a mixture of land-based and sea-going experience, with a strong educational background to back up your practical experience, able to work analytically with a high attention to detail at all times. You will work at length with a number of different parties to include owners, shipyards and third party suppliers. 
This is a great chance to be involved in a new and exciting project that is continuing to push the boundraries of Superyacht construction.

HYSRR are currently looking for a qualified general purpose Marine Electrician to join their Engineering Department based at their head office in Port Hamble.  The successful candidate will hold a recognised electrical qualification (or be qualified by experience), be computer literate with a solid understanding of all general electrical & engineering requirements within the boat yard.   Individuals must have recent and relevant experience within the marine leisure industry as this is a perquisite of the role.
 
The role will include but not be limited to the following:
  • Working knowledge of fault finding/diagnostic general electrical systems
  • Working knowledge of generators and associated systems
  • The ability to install ancillary systems such as generators, water makers and air conditioning units, as well heating and refrigeration systems
  • Be fully competent with the general maintenance of engineering equipment to ensure they meet H&S standards
  • Ensure that all H&S standards are adhered to
  • Maintain the highest quality of finish and standards 
  • Use their initiative with the minimum of supervision as well as being part of a team.
 
Skills required:

Role 1 – Senior / Chief Instructor:

An opportunity for an experienced Senior Sailing Instructor to help develop a new water-sports centre from the ground up.  The client is looking for someone to help set up and run a new base in Dongtou, an Island just outside Wenzhou city. The client has a fleet of new RS dinghies (Quba, Tera, Cat 16) and is planning to add some RS Visions and possibly RS Ventures in the near future. The client will also be purchasing a couple of locally-built 29ft trimarans and possibly a Beneteau Oceanis 45 to run corporate events. 
Sailing is completely new to the Wenzhou area, so the focus this year(2016) will be on 'Try Sailing'™ and corporate events, with hopefully some beginner courses.  
The contract package includes accommodation (single room in a shared staff house) and food, plus return flights and visa. The term of the contract will be for a minimum of 6 months, starting no later than June 10th 2016. One week of holiday entitlement is included in the 6 month contract.
It is desirable (but not essential) for applicants to hold a Keelboat endorsement on their existing Senior Instructor Qualification and/or hold some form of Yachting certification (e.g. Day Skipper). A staff uniform and Personal Flotation Device (Lifejacket) will be provided. This role is a seasonal position, but an opportunity exists to continue working in China over winter at the Hangzhou lakeside base.
 
Roles 2+3 – Dinghy Sailing Instructors:

1.        Based in Dongtou, a seaside and tidal location, the aim of the Dinghy Instructor is to support the Chief Instructor in building a new sailing center.  The focus for 2016 is on ˜Try Sailing'™ and corporate events, with some beginner courses expected to be delivered. This is a completely new sailing center, with good wind and a fleet of all-new boats including 2 x 29ft trimarans and a Beneteau Oceanis 45 expected to arrive soon.
2.         Based on a small lake just 20 minutes from Hangzhou city center, the focus of programs delivered at this centre is on 'summer camp' style activity and members' sailing activities.  This base has more of a 'club' feel, offering training and events for its members, as well as summer camps and corporate events.  A multi-activity instructor would be preferred for this position, with this being a light wind location, also offering kayaking, Stand-up Paddleboarding (SUP) and other water-sports activities.
The contract package includes accommodation (single room in a shared staff house) and food, plus return flights and visa.  The term of the contract will be for a minimum of 6 months, starting preferably mid-June 2016. One week of holiday entitlement is included in each of these 6 month contracts.
It is desirable (but not essential) for applicants to hold a Keelboat endorsement on their existing Dinghy Instructor Qualification and to hold an entry-level Stand-Up-Paddleboarding or Kayak Coaching certificate.

Of course to build these fantastic vessels, there is a need for proper allocation of materials throughout the process.
You will pick up the process from Sales specification and continue through the planning process, ensuring that all specifications are converted to SAP format. Overseeing the release of materials to the shop floor, you will attend daily floor meetings to ensure that all KPIs are being met and that any concerns or queries are adressed. 
Working alongside the Project Planner, you will be an organised individual, happy to challenge colleagues on materials queries or requests. Your aims will be to avoid surplus or shortage of materials at all times, and this will be gauged by a number of KPI targets. 
As the ideal candidate, you will have ideally worked in a manufacturing surrounding within a medium to large enterprise. You must be literate with SAP systems, a multitasker and able to problem solve quickly. Furthermore an understanding of both boatbuilding and the assosciated drawings for production would be beneficial.

Fairline Yachts produce a range of high quality Powerboats, ranging from 38-78ft, with an emphasis on quality, customisation and looks. Leading from a recent partnership with Vripack, an international Engineering firm based in the Netherlands, Fairline Yachts are seeking a talented Design Engineer with experience engineering system layouts, to inlcude propulsion, HVAC, Water systems and heating/cooling. 
Whilst this is a marine brand, experience in this field is not necessarily essential. The key areas required are as follows:
– Systems layouts – This could suit Marine, Automotive, Oil & Gas but NOT Heavy Engineering
– Liason with third parties – There will be extensive liason with third parties such as design, engineering and production floor
– Process – You'll be able to work from concept through engineering and into the testing phase, so an understanding of the full process Design Engineering process is key.
Fairline Yachts work extensively with Siemens NX but are in the process of migrating across to Solidworks. Experience with both would be preferred, but the latter is essential in order to be able to migrate across the systems effectively.

With a recent partnership agreed with Alberto Mancini Design, this contract will enable design work to continue as the new relationship is set up
You will be experienced in the design and modelling of exterior componentry within the production boatbuilding world, and be able to work to a high standard without supervision. The overall product itself is at a stage where the finer points need to be modelled in order for the overall design phase to complete. 
You will be experienced in the use of Siemens NX and other 3D softwares. The role can be worked either at the Fairline Head Office in Northamptonshire, or alternatively remotely with a day or two a week in the office. 
Fairline Yachts are going through an exciting development period, so this represents a great chance to work closely with a brand set for huge coverage in the coming 12 months. 
Salary:
Salary will be paid by means of hourly rate, paid weekly.

Following their recently launch, Fairline Yachts are seeking a pair of talented Draughtspeople to join their growing Design Office Team.
Fairline Yachts produce a range of high quality Powerboats, ranging from 38-78ft, with an emphasis on quality, customisation and looks. Leading from a recent partnership with Vripack, an international Engineering firm based in the Netherlands, and Alberto Mancini, a revered Yacht Designer, Fairline Yachts are seeking two talented Draughtspeople, ideally with experience across a wide range of production disciplines
Whilst this is a marine brand, experience in this field is not necessarily essential. You will be working to produce drawings for the production teams in build areas such as GRP/Structural, Mechanical, Furniture and also for CNC milling. You will be a fast learner, able to work to a high standard and without supervision
The role itself is geared towards someone at the earlier stages of their career and could well suit a recent graduate who has studied a placement year within marine, motorhome or similar. You will be well versed with Autocad 2D
