A long established boat sales business is looking for a junior yacht broker to manage the brokerage side of the business. Reporting to the company directors, the successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating the movement of pre-owned yachts onto our sales walkway, and liaising with vendors and prospective buyers through the sales cycle.
The successful applicant will be required to create sales opportunities by ringing clients, showing boats to clients, and negotiating and concluding the sale. They will also need to source and inspect new listings, and follow the office protocol to its conclusion, being diligent and timely with administration and paperwork. Ensuring that brokerage and demo boats are presentable and ready for viewings at all times.
Experience Needed:
- Must have knowledge of, or experience with, performance racing yachts and performance cruisers
- Must be confident at boat handling unaided, for demonstration sails and moving boats around the Hamble marinas
- Must be confident with MS office and able to learn a content management system and CRM system
- Must have own car
- Must be over 25 in order to drive company vehicles
Advantageous but not essential:
- Experience in a marine sales role
- Knowledge of local area and Solent water
Hours of work: Monday to Friday and approximately 20 weekends throughout the year (with days off in lieu). Must be flexible to work extra hours at boat shows.
