In a constantly evolving market with an incredible level of international competition, there is always a need to improve process, streamline manufacturing and cut wasteage costs.
One of the UKs leading boatbuilders has recently identified a need for a skilled individual to join their team, in the role of Manufacturing Engineering Manager. Reporting to the Director of Production Planning, this exciting roles' main focus will centre around the review and improvement of production processes, focussing on:
– Strategy and Development
– People Management
– Budgeting
– Relationships
– People Management
– Budgeting
– Relationships
As an exceptional leader, your role will give you the flexibility to impliment new practises that will further improve the productivity of the production floor. You'll be able to write detailed production process documentation and then motivate the team around you to bring this to fruition, using a range of KPIs and targets set both for you and your team.
With a strong grasp on the overall production process, you'll be able to understand where costs can be cut, wastage levels reduced and overall productivity improved, using your departmental budget to its most efficient. Whilst you're role will of course be central to your department, your input will be appreciated across the company and well received.
As a person you will be a quick thinker, able to work to tight deadlines and use your arsenal of experience with process improvement and production development to the best of your ability. You'll have developed extensive production skills and trained in a range of production methods, matching them with Lean Management techniques
You'll need to have an understanding of and also be able to read 2D/3D drawings, with previous marine industry exprience a major plus.
