The market for British Boatbuilding currently experiencing one of its busiest periods of recent years, with forward orders across the three major brands of in excess of £150m.
Along with this extensive market growth, a lot of the boatbuilding world are now seeking to increase their staffing levels in order to cope with the requirements of the end customer.In this instance, our customer is one of the largest UK boatbuilders, producing craft ranging from 40ft upwards
They are seeking a Quality Improvement Engineer to join their busy team to oversee and impliment a range of quality procedures in order to bring manufacturing standards to the highest possible, through ongoing audits and KPIs.
Working within the quality standards team, your focus will be around the Fitout stage, auditing against the Quality Management System. From this you will pass data through the wider system for the attention of management and department leads, producing risk assessments and building KPIs and targets for the shop floor team to work to. Exceptional attention to detail is key, as is an ability to take the data gained and process it into meaningful data that can be reviewed by all departments
To be considered for this position, you'll need to have gained a City and Guilds or similar in quality assurance. Internal auditing experience and lean management techniques would also be desirable however not essential. Furthermore, exposure to ISO 9001 and understanding its requirements would further benefit your application.
