Responsibilities:

- Promotion and management of all aspects the Membership Club.
- RYA Principal roles and supporting the Chief Instructor (CI). Running of the Training Centre in accordance with RYA regulations. Ensuring that RYA and VCC recognition is maintained.
- Line Management of the CI and deputising for them in their absence.
- Line management of the Accountant.
- Staff training.
- Enforcing, maintaining, reviewing and amending the HLSTC Rules and Operating Procedures as required and in accordance with the site lease and license and with AALA.
- Coordination of the Committee and Instructional staff, ensuring all roles within the Club are managed and supported.
- Health and Safety Management.
- The Principal is the Club Welfare Officer for HLSTC, responsible for updating the welfare and anti-bullying policies and ensuring they are publicised and enforced.
- Supervision of the management of the Clubhouse Bar in accordance with the current Bar Manager's contract and in consultation with the Treasurer.
- Coordination of all applications for grants from the various sources and to liaise with the relevant agencies and appropriate authorities.
- To organise the HLSTC calendar and events.
- Publicity and marketing of all centre activities: compilation of e-mail marketing, writing copy, designing promotional material and web-site management.
- To increase income and efficiency at the Centre.
- Administrational tasks.
Essential qualities:
- RYA Senior Instructor qualified, including current first aid qualification.
- RYA Powerboat Instructor qualified.
- At least 1 years experience in a management position, preferably in a similar environment.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organisation, communication and customer service skills.
- Event management.
- Excellent knowledge of the RYA schemes and operational requirements.
- Sound knowledge of equipment maintenance across all sports.
Desirable qualities:
- RYA Coach Assessor and Inspector appointed.
- RYA Windsurf Senior Instructor.
- BCU Level 2 Coach / UKCC equivalent.
- Health and Safety qualification.
- Sailability experience.
- Business management experience / qualification.
- Marketing experience / qualification.
- Club development experience.
- Design and copywriting experience / qualification.
SALARY
- £20,000 pa.
- Benefits: Performance related bonus available.
- Pension: Employer contributory Pension Scheme up to £600 pa.
- Hours: 42 hours/week inclusive of evenings and weekends as necessary
