ON-BOARD TRAINER TECHNICAL - WORLDWIDE

JOB DESCRIPTION

With immediate effect, we are looking for an ''On Board Trainer Technical''  to train our crew on board our vessels. 

Responsibilities
  • Objective, on-scene assessment of routine and emergency shipboard working procedures within the area of personal expertise (Engine Departments' routines and overall vessel's safety / emergency procedures)
  • Identifying causes of substandard crew's performance
  • Determining the best solutions to identified problems
  • Whenever possible, immediate resolving identified problems through:
  1. Workplace instructions
  2. Training sessions
  3. Guiding shipboard teams and individual crewmembers
  4. Resolving cross-cultural conflicts
  • Promoting best management practices
  • Motivating the crews for self-development and best possible performance
  • Identifying external factors impeding vessels' performance
  • Reporting:
  1. Assessment findings
  2. Actions taken onboard
  3. Effectiveness of applied measures
  4. Suggestions for solutions of identified external problems
  5. Suggestions for improvements in Company's standard procedures
  • If necessary, requesting immediate actions from Company's departments
  • Constant self-development and active participation in development of Marine Department's working procedures
  • Conduct on board internal audits of the Environmental Management System
Required qualification
  • Marine Chief Engineer's Certificate of Competence
  • At least 3 years of recent sea service as Chief Engineer or at least 3 years of recent experience in a similar position within shipping organisation
  • Long-standing traceable seagoing experience
  • Experience in working in a multicultural environment
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Strong analytical and excellent communication skills
  • Strong  leadership and management skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel worldwide
  • Previous teaching experience or experience in a similar position will be considered an advantage
The On Board Trainer - Technical will report to the Marine Department.
UNITEAM MARINE will offer an in house training for the appropriate candidate.
Due to working permit restrictions, only applications from EU passport holders accepted.
