MARINE ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING MANAGER – HONG KONG

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:-
Responsible for overseeing and effectively managing the Electrical Engineering department of the company, and developing new business in this area of expertise. Also responsible for carrying out electrical engineering work to the highest standard.

Job Duties:-
Duties to include servicing, repair and new installation of air conditioning systems,
generator systems, water makers, all on-board electrical systems, hydraulic systems, deck hardware and all engine ancillary systems. Fault finding skills relevant to all of these systems are required, but are especially necessary for AC and DC electrical systems.
Customer liaison will be necessary at all levels to ensure accurate quotations and
reporting, therefore both written and spoken English language skills must be of the highest standard.
The successful candidate will also be required to liaise with clients purchasing new vessels through the dealership network, and also offer technical advice to these clients. After-sales and warranty support to existing clients will also be necessary.
Management, direction and training of all electrical subcontractors and casual labour.
Development of Electrical Engineering Department, and responsible for hiring and training of new department staff, as required.

Candidate Requirements:
  • The applicant must have a proven track record in the marine industry.
  • At least 6 years in a marine based technical, electrical engineering role
  • Working knowledge of ISO and ABYC standards
  • Experience of designing and fault finding in electrical systems
  • Experience of client interfacing, including provision of technical advice
  • Experienced in sourcing and negotiating with local suppliers
  • Formal qualifications or recognized apprenticeship, preferably in marine engineering or similar
  • Excellent English is essential.
