JOB DESCRIPTION

An excellent opportunity has arisen within our Town Quay division for a Marina Assistant.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of marina operations including; moving & berthing of craft, responding to customers needs in respect of vessel/craft requirements, carrying out pontoon repairs and being responsible for security of Town Quay area. You will also be required to carry out minor maintenance works within the Town Quay area, monitor and maintain the vacuum drainage system and respond to tenants requirements on an ad hoc basis. You must also ensure ABP's Health & Safety policies are adhered to and complete administration/office based duties as required.

Requirements for this role include;

• 5 GCSE's A-C or equivalent
• Qualifications in Powerboat 2 and Day Skipper
• Recent small craft experience and confidence in boat handling both sail and power
• Experience of general maintenance activites i.e. painting, minor plumbing & electrical work
• Computer literate and office based experience
• Ability to communicate clearly & professionally when dealing with customers & public
• Proven team player and ability to work on own initiative

Experience of VHF radio would be desirable as would a working knowledge of Southampton Water. Previous experience within a security environment would also be desirable as well as time served as an Apprentice 17th Edition electrician.

The ability to work shifts including nights and some weekends is required for this role.
