JOB DESCRIPTION

This hands-on role is responsible for:

Training of new Sailing School Dinghy Instructors
Over seeing the Dinghy Instructor Apprenticeship Program
Assisting in the continual development of current Instructors
Operating within the guidelines of Oman Sail and that of the ISAF accreditation.

To manage and deliver 6 month Instructor Training Programs for the new sailing school Instructors, to include:

Sailing qualifications (Levels 1,2 and 3)
Powerboat qualification (National Powerboat Certificate)
First Aid Certificate - 1 day (out sourced)
Delivering training of instructing skills (Instructing level 1,2 and 3 in single and double handers. Teaching children and adults)
Oman Sail Instructor Assessment - Including development action plans
Comprehensive set of training records/ notes from the program to assist the new Centre Manager and Chief Instructor
To facilitate and supervise work experience for the candidates within one of Oman Sail's existing sailing schools 
Commissioning of new schools with the new Centre Manager in training
Apprenticeship Program
To design and own the apprenticeship program, communicating the plan clearly to the centre managers and apprentices.
To oversee the technical development (as above) for the apprenticeship scheme.
To link training needs of the apprentices into current instructor training programs (to drive efficiency)
To communicate and work closely with HR, to ensure correct procedures are followed, especially during probationary periods of the candidates.
Communicate all relevant information regarding individuals development/ progress/ action plans to the candidates direct Line Manger and Sailing School Development Manager
Understand the Oman Sail 5 year plan, specifically the roll out of further schools and the targets set for participation and commercial sales.
To work within the Oman Sail operating procedures and to ensure all training adheres to the policies and that all trainees understand the procedures/ systems.
To provide bespoke Instructor training programs for existing instructors; to include an Annual Senior Instructor Course and Powerboat Instructor training
