Charter & Racing Skipper/Boat Captain

Charter & Racing Skipper/Boat Captain

Hampshire

£Competitive Solent package - Haslar Marina, Gosport
Job Reference: 3849
Lloyd's Yacht Club are looking for a new skipper/boat captain for their 2010, X-55.   "Lutine" is berthed at Haslar Marina and is available for weekday corporate charter and at weekends the yacht is available for the use of club members.  It is a highly spec’d, well maintained, yacht that will see new North 3Di sails delivered for the 2017 season.

Lloyd's Yacht Club was formed in 1938, to introduce Underwriters of Lloyd's (the London insurance market) to offshore racing. Since the clubs inception, the club has stayed true to it’s racing origins: Lutine has taken part in most Fastnet races and is already entered for the 2017 campaign, including the requisite qualifiers.  At the same time the Club has grown to provide an opportunity for members of all ages and abilities to sail, and to learn to sail, be that racing or cruising.

We are looking for a commercially endorsed Yachtmaster to take on the role of skipper/boat captain with responsibilities to include not just skippering the yacht but maintaining it to the highest of standards and compliant with its MCA coding: safety is paramount to the club.

Suitable candidates will have:
  • A good level of practical sailing experience, both cruising and racing
  • Good interpersonal skills to make guests and club members feel safe and "at home"
  • A sound working knowledge of boat operation and maintenance
  • The ability to "self-motivate" and a "can-do" attitude towards driving excellence throughout the entire operation of the yacht.
More details on the Club and Lutine can be found at www.lloydsyachtclub.com
