Composites are fast becoming one of the most commonly-used materials for a huge range of different products, from cars to yachts, bridges to buildings. The market as a whole is booming, resulting in huge growth of both new and existing engineering firms across the UK and Europe. 
The UK is home to some of the most advanced Composites specialists in the world, with a number being based on the South Coast of the UK, covering all manner of industries. Having worked with this brand for a number of years, Marine Resources have once again been asked to assist them in finding a number of new Engineers to cope with the increase in demand in this sector. 
As  Composite Structural Design Engineer, you'll be assigned specific projects to work on rather than specific areas of a project. Being client facing, you'll pick up each project from the start, working from ideas and concept designs, specifying, designing and testing as you go in order to come to a final set of workings to submit to the customer. An analytical mind, keen eye for detail and a problem-solving manner are all key as are the ability to speak in both technical and customer-friendly manners. 
To be conisdered for this position you will need to possess the skills of a strong all-rounder, having been educated in either Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering, with a vested interest in Composites. Key industry experiences would include marine, renewables or aerospace, with a strong knowledge of:
– Laminating schedules
– FEA/Stress testing
– Hands-on Composite Manufacture
