A Maritime technology company in the commercial industry are expanding their workforce. They are in need of an Experienced Project Engineer.

Project Engineer;

Based in the company’s engineering department and reporting to the Engineering Services Manager.
Specify and design systems from a brief supplied by the Project Manager and take responsibility for the engineering component of the project through to testing, commissioning and handover.
Create Functional Design Specification Documents For Systems and Sub-Systems.
Create Test and Acceptance Documentation.
Create System Operator and Maintainer Manuals.
Work with the drawing dept. to produce a range of drawings ranging from system block diagrams to electrical schematics.
Create accompanying engineering documents including parts list and cable schedules.
Attendance at meetings with customers and other departments on and off site.
Assist with the development and assessment of new products.
Travel worldwide to assist commissioning engineers on final system commissioning.

Ideal candidates will have a HNC/Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline, ideally with a minimum of 2 years experience in Systems Engineering.

Project Engineers should have;

System design experience of analogue / digital control & instrumentation.
Experience of multi-processor and networked control and automation system.
Competent in computer technology and Ethernet networks.
Some understanding of structured programming languages is an advantage.
Experience with Windows and MS Office.
Experience with AutoCAD and Visio preferable.
Experience with IBM DOORS software preferable.
Marine experience of ship systems especially power and propulsion control, chart systems, radar and communications desirable.
Experience of working with approval bodies to ensure system compliance with regulations.
Good interpersonal skills – able to communicate well with colleagues and customers.
Have an ability to work well within a team whilst at the same time demonstrating initiative and the ability to work without supervision.
Be prepared to work on site aboard a variety of marine vessels afloat and in shipyards.
A Current passport and available to travel.

Salary

£35,000 - £40,000pa

A performance related annual bonus is available based upon personal and corporate achievement.
20% uplift on salary is applied for hours worked travelling.
50% uplift on salary is applied for hours worked on site during the week.
100% uplift on salary is applied for hours worked on site at weekends and nights.
A contributory pension scheme is available.
Normal hours of working will be 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, however it may be necessary to work additional hours to meet deadlines or when off site.
20 days annual leave increasing 1 day per annum to 25 days plus statutory public holidays.
