Charter Assistant

Charter Assistant

Dorset

£DOE - Poole, Dorset
Job Reference: 2846
We are looking for a Charter Assistant to join our small but very busy team as the Company sets about a defined period of expansion. We are the official charter brokerage for the world renowned Sunseeker Yachts as well as offering other charter yachts available throughout the world. This is a very exciting opportunity for the right candidate.

The Role
The Charter Assistant will work alongside our team of Charter Brokers and will be their first point of contact for any work that is required in relation to their daily duties. This could include the writing of charter contracts, creating personlised itinerary documents for our clients, liaising with our crews and dealers abroad and performing any ad-hoc administrative duties as they occur.

The office can be a fast paced environment throughout the summer months and the successful candidate must be able to multi-task between projects with little or no notice and always with meticulous attention to detail.

The company is on a firm projection of expansion and the successful candidate could be considered for any upcoming Broker positions in the future.

The Person
This is a UK office based position with possible future international travel expected. The successful candidate must be of an advanced level of proficiency in the use of PC computers. In particular the following software applications:

  • MS Outlook
  • MS Word
  • MS Powerpoint
  • MS Excel (useful, but not compulsory)
We also run our own software booking schedule for which training will be provided as well as SAGE Act, so any relevant experience with this programme would also be beneficial. The role will also involve updating our company website, so any experience in WordPress would be of an advantage, though training will be given to the correct candidate.
The Charter Assistant will be creating bespoke travel itineraries for our clients, so an advanced understanding of world geography is expected. Any experience of yacht cruising destinations would be of a distinct advantage. The role would be well suited to anyone who has experience in the luxury travel or superyacht sector, though this is not essential.

There will also be a strong lean towards anyone with proven experience of marketing, as we spend a great deal of time throughout the year, promoting and marketing our yachts to our extended network of brokers.
As part of the role you will be assisting in the writing of legal contracts and helping to follow and document the transfer of international currency, so an understanding of financial administration would also be advantageous.
Most importantly, at times you could be in direct contact with our clients and your written work will be presented to them, so an advanced level of written English is expected, as well as a polite and professional telephone manner.

Location: Poole
Salary: Salary will be discussed with the individual depending on experience
