JOB DESCRIPTION
Rockley are looking to employ a suitably experienced, enthusiastic, hardworking, individual to undertake the Chief Instructor role at our Rockley Poole Park Centre for the 2014 Season.
Rockley's Poole Park Centre is based on a large salt-water lake near Poole Town Centre, offering everything from Taster sessions in Sailing, Windsurfing and Paddle Sports, RYA courses for schools, and hiring of equipment.
As the Chief Instructor you will be required to support the Centre Manager and assist with the management of all activities at the centre. You will be responsible for running the centre in the absence of the Centre Manager. You will be assisting in organising the small staff team which will include qualified RYA Instructors and Non qualified staff, providing guidance and advice as and where needed.
Candidates should have excellent communication and customer service skills, be conscientious and have the ability to work in a team but who can also work using their own initiative.
You will need to be a motivated, flexible and professional person who leads by example. There is the potential to transfer to a Full Time contract for the right candidate.
Along with the Centre Manger your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Supervising all courses & activities making sure that all paperwork is complete and the standards are met.
- Organising activity staff, staff motivation and training.
- Fleet leading sessions.
- Provide advice and assistance to less experienced instructors both on and off the water.
- Running the centre in the absence of the Centre Manager.
- Liaising with teachers & parents.
- Assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of the centre and equipment.
Applicants must hold:
- RYA Senior Instructor (Dinghy) -
- RYA Start Windsurfing Instructor (At minimum)
Ideally you will also hold one or more of the following instructor qualifications.
- UKCC Level 1
- BSUPA Instructor
- RYA Powerboat Instructor
We require you to have previous experience working in the waterports industry. You must hold a full UK driving licence and be computer literate.
