JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client is looking for an individual to design, develop and evaluate components and assemblies, compile design reports and maintenance manuals. Design and modify existing designs using 2D/3D modelling tools, compiles design reports and maintenance manuals.

The role for the successful individual will entail the following:


    Modify or create original designs using CAD and 3D modelling tools
    Compile design reports ensuring they address technical and code requirements.
    Select the correct materials and consider manufacturing requirements.
    Read customers technical requirements and transpose them to designs that are fit for purpose.
    Modify and improve existing designs
    Provide assembly and test instructions and assist in the design of assembly jigs and fixtures.
    Keep up to date with new material technologies and designs.
    Visit and liaise customers to ensure that designs are fit for purpose.
    You are to co-operate with the employer on health and safety issues and you must not interfere with or misuse equipment provided to you for health and safety reasons.
    You must act in accordance with the instruction and training provided and report any dangerous situations and health and safety shortcomings


The successful candidate must have the following:


    Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent
    Knowledge of design, construction and manufacturing processes desirable
    Key skills in the areas of: Materials; CAD drawing (Inventor); Stress analysis; Fluid Dynamics; Project management and practical test related skills.
    Excellent organizational & communication skills are also vital as the role will involve working on various projects simultaneously, including coordinating with other project team members, liaising with manufacturing & sales departments, reviewing progress as well as evaluating results.


Salary

£27,800 - £39,000 + package or benefits

    37 hrs a week 8:00 - 16:30 Monday to Thursday
    Friday 8:00 – 13:00
    Performance bonus paid annually
    Salary review in February every year
    Pension
    25 days per year plus bank and English public holidays
