JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client is seeking a Purchaser.  The main purposes of the role are:

  •     Ensure materials are purchased in due time for production and sales
  •     Ensure supply of items showing negative inventory
  •     Ensure accurate due dates on all outstanding purchase orders.
  •     Expedite all overdue orders and update due dates.
  •     Evaluate reorder quantity and reorder point on a regular basis
  •     Organise and consolidate shipments in the most cost effective manner, especially for Far East based suppliers
  •     Organise sub-assembly operation with outworkers and internal suppliers
  •     Ensure supplied items are to the quality defined by Technical Dept. and expected by Sales
  •     Carry out rolling monthly stock takes to agreed matrix.
  •     Manage annual stock take
  •     Communicate between sales and production any issues relating to shortages and quality


The following criteria for the position are important:

  •     Previous experience in a purchasing role or exposure to a purchasing environment
  •     Strong IT skills
  •     Exposure to a manufacturing environment or the Marine Industry would be desirable
  •     Strong accurate admin skills with attention to detail and good communication skills.


Salary
 £22,000 pa dependent on experience
