JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client is seeking a Purchaser. The main purposes of the role are:
- Ensure materials are purchased in due time for production and sales
- Ensure supply of items showing negative inventory
- Ensure accurate due dates on all outstanding purchase orders.
- Expedite all overdue orders and update due dates.
- Evaluate reorder quantity and reorder point on a regular basis
- Organise and consolidate shipments in the most cost effective manner, especially for Far East based suppliers
- Organise sub-assembly operation with outworkers and internal suppliers
- Ensure supplied items are to the quality defined by Technical Dept. and expected by Sales
- Carry out rolling monthly stock takes to agreed matrix.
- Manage annual stock take
- Communicate between sales and production any issues relating to shortages and quality
The following criteria for the position are important:
- Previous experience in a purchasing role or exposure to a purchasing environment
- Strong IT skills
- Exposure to a manufacturing environment or the Marine Industry would be desirable
- Strong accurate admin skills with attention to detail and good communication skills.
Salary
£22,000 pa dependent on experience
