JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Service Sales Engineer
Reporting To: Sales Manager

Be responsible for the development of sales for the marine services department. Deliver exceptional customer service standards with integrity and professionalism.

JOB CONTENT

  •     Maintain and update sales leads on the company CRM system
  •     Work with the marketing assistant to promote sales of marine service work
  •     Work on the company stand at Local, National and International boat/trade shows at the request of the Sales Manager to promote and sell marine services work
  •     Convert enquiries to sales and manage the ongoing customer relationship
  •     Ensure the works orders are handed over to the marine services supervisor in good time and with full detail on the jobs required
  •     Ensure the works order quotations are accurate and stored on the system
  •     Set up new customer accounts and maintain existing account details
  •     Report on sales pipeline, conversion rates and success of marketing channels
  •     To keep communications open with the other functions at all times
  •     To observe all company policies
  •     To handle all documentation promptly and accurately
  •     Maintain quality standards
  •     To ensure records are accurately maintained
  •     Create reports as required
  •     Communicate and provide information by relevant methods internally and externally
  •     File data and perform other routine clerical tasks as assigned
  •     Set personal targets to stretch those set by your Manager

KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURES

  •     Achievement of sales targets
  •     Lead source and customer record management, measured through the quality and size of the customer/prospects database
  •     Positive and effective communication

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  •     Fluent English language, and sound technical knowledge of powerboats and electro-mechanical systems
  •     Previous experience of marine service engineering sales
  •     Pro-active approach to work and a commercial mindset
  •     Sound working knowledge of Volvo Penta engines would be desirable
  •      RYA day skipper or ICC qualification would be desirable but not essential
  •      Able to demonstrate good attention to detail
  •     Computer literate with good MS Office skills
  •     Ability to convert sales enquiries to actual sales
  •     Ability to present reports for sales pipeline purposes
  •     Ability to prioritise workload with efficiency and effectiveness
  •     A flexible approach and the ability to work to strict deadlines
  •     Strong communication skills both orally and in writing
