JOB DESCRIPTION
The company is a highly respected company selling products into the Marine & ATV industries.

They are now looking for a Sales & Marketing Manager to head up the UK division.

With consistent market share growth and an opportunity to consolidate the company’s strong position, the role of Sales & Marketing Manager for Marine & ATV is essential in leading the strategy to sustain success.

The key purpose is to build and maintain a positive and profitable relationship with the companies Marine and ATV Dealers and Boat Builders across the UK, developing effective lines of communication and ensuring the provision of support to effectively deliver and, where possible, exceed sales targets in line with commercial aims and objectives.

Specific responsibilities include:


    Through the development of a positive, robust and mutually respectful team, lead and direct ATV and Marine Division and be accountable for its performance.

    Create, lead and implement effective medium to long term strategies and tactics to successfully deliver results, taking into account product planning and market research.

    Produce, justify and deliver budgets and forecasts for approval by the company and parent company management, maintaining full P&L responsibility for the performance of the division.

    Manage all aspects of Marine and ATV team development, seeking to understand each individual’s motivation, providing guidance and coaching when required, resolving issues and maintaining an effective team structure to meet commercial demands.

    Oversee the management and delivery of an effective network structure, ensuring regular communication, scheduled visits and periodic meetings as appropriate, to successfully meet the company’s commercial demands.

    Manage and provide support to Area Sales Managers in negotiations with larger Key Accounts, taking a lead in negotiations on high profile or high value, one off contracts.

    Build effective relationships within the company, with Dealers, Suppliers and with parent company.

    Oversee all PR and marketing communications, being innovative while maintaining corporate standards.

Essentials;

  •     5 – 10+ years experience of managing sales through a dealer network
  •     Experience of managing a sales team selling into OEM’s
  •     Experience of managing external agencies
  •     Experience of building and maintaining retail brands
  •     Educated to a minimum of Higher Education
  •     Commercial acumen with knowledge and experience of crucial business functions
  •     Significant budget management experience
  •     People management skills, understanding and experience
  •     Experience of leisure and light commercial marine industry
  •     Experience of agricultural equipment market
  •     RYA Level 2
  •     EASI training
  •     University Graduate in a relevant field or qualified by experience
  •     Able to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision
  •     Highly numerate and financially competent
  •     Confident and analytical, with excellent communication  and presentation skills to influence and negotiate strategies
  •     A strong leader, with the Intellectual ability to relate effectively at Board level
  •     Flexible, with the ability to adapt approach depending on situation
  •     A strategic thinker, highly organised, with an acute attention to detail
  •     Goal orientated, focused and driven to achieve results

We are seeking a pragmatic sales and marketing professional with a knowledge of the relevant industries, specifically in managing the relationships with a retail network.  You will be an established people and supplier manager, accustomed to being fully accountable for the performance of a business division.  You will need to understand our customers, but also to be able translate this understanding into a proposition strong enough to deliver a challenging and sustainable business plan.
